Located in the National Shanghai Biotech & Pharmaceutical Industry Base in Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park, Shanghai PharmValley Corp. is established in March 2001 as a technology-oriented Biopharmaceutical enterprise, and its organizing members are Shanghai Innovative Research Centre of TCM (SIRC/TCM), Shanghai Zhangjiang (Group) Co, Ltd, Shanghai Science & Technology Investment Corporation, Shanghai Pudong Science & Technology Investment Corporation, Shanghai Zhangjiang Biotech & Pharmaceutical Base Development Co. Ltd.

　　Shanghai PharmValley Corp. serves as a “Window” of Shanghai Innovative Research Center of TCM (SIRC/TCM). SIRC/TCM is a non-profit TCM-Modernization research & development organization, and with the support from Ministry of Science and Technology and Shanghai Municipal Government, it is set up in April 2000 as the “Core” of the Innovation Center of TCM Modernization at Shanghai, and also as one of National key project incubators on biomedical research in China. The founding members of SIRC/TCM are Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, Shanghai Pudong New area and Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park Development Corporation.

　　Depending on SIRC/TCM’s research advantage, Shanghai PharmValley Corp. has formed its own idea of modern TCM development, that is “TCM as resources, Western medicine as application means, Give consideration to both Health Food and Medicine, and Put emphasis on both TCM and Western Medicine”. Shanghai PharmValley Corp.’s business covers plant-medicine research, bio-pharmaceutical research, health food, chemical materials and chemical reagents, computer soft wares, consultation, and sales. Shanghai PharmValley Corp. was reorganization in June 2004, and is acting as the mainstay enterprise in Zhangjiang Park.

　　Professor Hui Yongzheng, Shanghai PharmValley Corp.’s honorary president and chief scientist, has ever held the post of Vice Director of National Science and Technology Commission, Vice Minister of the State Ministry of Science & Technology, and was the deputy to the National People’s Congress. He is the founder and initiator of TCM modernization in China, and plays internationally an important role in carbohydrate chemistry. Professor Hui is also the research fellow of Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC), doctor tutor, and academician of Third-World Academic of Sciences. He has nurtured hundreds of masters and doctors, and won many times the National Prize of Nature Science and the National Prize of Scientific Achievement.

　　Doctor Chen Jianbo is the president of Shanghai PharmValley Corp. He has ever been the Director Assistant of Electronic Information School of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Director and General Manager of Shanghai Jiaoda Withub Information Industrial Company Limited, Vice-director of Information Security School of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Vice-General Manager of Shanghai Science & Technology Investment Corporation, and at present holds the position of Party Committee Secretary and General Manager of Shanghai Zhangjiang (Group) Co, Ltd.

　　Shanghai PharmValley Corp. has an innovative management & research group, and also a Scientific Advisory Board comprising several academicians. Based on SIRC/TCM and stands in Shanghai, Shanghai PharmValley Corp. also provides technology service and project incubation service nationwide.
